Start small and be consistent
The Prophet (peace be upon him) taught that the deeds most beloved to Allah are those done consistently, even if small. A single verse a day, done every day, beats an hour of reading you only manage once a month.
Choose one or two practices to begin — for example, the daily ayah and one extra dhikr — and protect them before adding more.
وَالَّذِينَ جَاهَدُوا فِينَا لَنَهْدِيَنَّهُمْ سُبُلَنَا ۚ وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَمَعَ الْمُحْسِنِينَ
“And those who strive for Us — We will surely guide them to Our ways. And indeed, Allah is with the doers of good.”
Attach habits to existing anchors
The five prayers are natural anchors already fixed in your day. Attach a new habit to one of them: read your daily ayah right after Fajr, or make dua after Maghrib. Linking a new habit to an existing one makes it far more likely to stick.
Track it and forgive lapses
Tracking turns intention into visible progress and builds momentum through streaks. But when you miss a day, resume without guilt — the goal is a lifelong direction, not a perfect record.
Reflection closes the loop: a short daily review helps you notice growth and adjust what isn't working.
Let a companion carry the reminders
Decision fatigue is the enemy of routine. Tariq removes it by serving a daily ayah, prompting reflection, and reminding you of your actions and prayer times — so your energy goes into worship, not planning.
