When the heart feels heavy
Worry, fear and anxiety are part of being human — even prophets experienced distress. The Quran does not dismiss these feelings; it meets them with reassurance, redirecting the anxious heart toward the One who is always near. These verses are gentle reminders to hold on to when the mind races.
Allah is enough for the one who trusts Him
Much anxiety comes from feeling that everything depends on us. This verse lifts that weight: when you place your trust (tawakkul) in Allah, He Himself is sufficient for you. You do your part, then rest in the knowledge that outcomes are in His hands.
“And whoever relies upon Allah — then He is sufficient for him. Indeed, Allah will accomplish His purpose.”
You are never given more than you can bear
A verse many return to in hard moments: Allah does not burden a soul beyond its capacity. Whatever you are facing, it has been measured to be within your strength — a reassurance that you are capable of getting through it.
“Allah does not burden a soul beyond that it can bear.”
Hearts find rest in remembering Allah
The Quran names the cure for a restless heart directly: the remembrance of Allah (dhikr). Simple phrases repeated with presence — SubhanAllah, Alhamdulillah — settle the soul and return it to calm.
“Verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest.”
Never despair of Allah's mercy
Anxiety often whispers that it is too late or too much. This verse answers clearly: do not despair of the mercy of Allah, who forgives all sins. However heavy things feel, the door to His mercy is always open.
“Say, 'O My servants who have transgressed against themselves, do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins.'”
